I’m a dancer, performer, entrepreneur, educator, and DJ.
I’ve taught and performed samba and Afro Brazilian dance in New York City for over 10 years, lived and studied in the northeast of Brazil (Fortaleza, Ceará), speak Portuguese, and have studied and performed Brazilian percussion professionally. I’ve been a Teaching Artist for American Ballroom Theatre’s Dancing Classrooms in NYC public schools, a group exercise instructor for adults, and am a certified mat Pilates instructor since 2015.
I was introduced to Samba as a teenager, and while living in Brazil in 2004 experienced the roots of samba in Bahia. I co-founded the education and entertainment company Samba Nation Productions in 2006.
I’ve performed Brazilian dance with Silvana Magda’s Viva Brazil Dancers and other entertainment companies; performed at S.O.B.\’s, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Celebrate Brooklyn, Brooklyn Museum, American Museum of Natural History and many other venues in NYC and the tri-state area. I’ve appeared performing samba & Brazilian dance on several television programs including TLC’s Four Weddings (Season 2, Episode 2, Karen’s Wedding).
